WHEN TO USE
Use when your internal narration defaults to extreme, absolute language (“disaster,” “ruined,” “always,” “never”) that makes an ordinary setback feel catastrophic.
WHAT TO DO
For one week, catch yourself mid-thought whenever you reach for inflated language, and write the phrase down next to what actually happened. Rewrite each one in more accurate, right-sized terms (e.g., swap “I always screw this up” for “I made a mistake this time”) and notice whether the smaller, truer version changes how the moment feels in your body.
