WHEN TO USE
Use before entering a difficult interaction with someone whose behavior tends to pull you into frustration or resentment.
WHAT TO DO
List three to five people you interact with regularly and with whom friction tends to show up, and for each, find one word that captures who they are to you at their core, not how they’ve been behaving lately. Before your next hard interaction with someone on the list, pause for sixty seconds and repeat the word to yourself until it reorients you toward the person, not just the moment. Afterward, note whether it changed how you showed up.
