Dr. Jean Greaves

COFOUNDER, COAUTHOR, ADVISOR

As a cofounder and ongoing advisor for TalentSmart, Dr. Jean Greaves brings over 25 years of experience in emotional intelligence research and development, training, and coaching.

Jean is also the coauthor of the #1 best-selling book Emotional Intelligence 2.0Team Emotional Intelligence 2.0Leadership 2.0, and The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book, now translated into 25 languages with over 2 million books in print. She also co-developed the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal®, a suite of self and 360 assessments. Her survey and assessment development expertise are grounded in simple, applied approaches to measurement.

Jean has led executive sessions, held speaking engagements, and coached leaders worldwide. She has taught graduate courses, supervised doctoral research studies, and was inaugural guest lecturer for Global Health Live, a five university “live” course focused on the relationship between health, foreign policy, and global health leadership. She has written for, or her work has been covered by: Newsweek, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.

Jean received her PhD and MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and her BA in Psychology from Stanford University.
