Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in our finance department, supporting financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and analysis.
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including transaction coding, data entry, and invoice processing, as needed.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support sales and marketing efforts and broader strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with sales tax requirements, filing of monthly sales tax returns as necessary.
- Management of inventory and reconciliation with third party fulfillment partner.
- Calculation of monthly and quarterly sales commissions.
- Coordination of Foreign Language Publishers and management of royalty payments.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a senior role.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
