Sales Development Representative

Reports To: EVP of Sales
Type: Hybrid – Full time

Position Overview:

We are looking for a driven, experienced Sales Development Representative who wants to jump in head-first, collaborate with our fast-growing sales and marketing teams, and support our vision and mission. The Sales Development Representative is responsible for vetting inbound leads, proactively targeting top new prospects, and supporting the sales and marketing team to actively maintain and grow existing partnerships. We work across multiple client verticals including corporate, law enforcement, military, and government accounts.

Key Responsibility Areas:
  1. Sales Development ā€“ 40%
    • Develop in-depth knowledge of company offerings to identify profitable business opportunities
    • Work closely with sales to develop and implement effective prospecting strategies
    • Conduct needs qualification calls with inbound leads and prospects
    • Identify new business opportunities and build a pipeline of potential clients. Includes lead management and lead generation
    • Conduct weekly analysis of the business development pipeline and develop strategic plans to further cultivate growth
    • Support sales team with preparing proposals, presentations and product demonstrations as needed
  2. Marketingā€“ 30%
    • Work with the marketing team to help plan and execute outbound messaging to current and prospective clients via lead automation tools
    • Assist lead generation campaigns such as newsletter support, social media, email blasts, and virtual and onsite events.
    • Help support ABM (Account Based Marketing) efforts for client specific needs and requests
    • Help support conferences and conference follow-up strategies
  3. Client Relationship Management ā€“ 30%
    • Build strong relationships with current clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction. Includes activities such as client meetings, calls, presentations, and follow-ups.
    • Build solid relationships with internal sales and marketing teams
    • Reconnect & reactivate inactive trainers and accounts
    • Support client reactivation strategies such as: consumption analysis, participant license audits and trainer follow-up
    • Develop and manage client relationships to support business growth
    • Help develop best-practices for process improvement
Ideal Profile:
  • 4+ years of business-to-business sales and marketing experience with a proven track-record of success & growth
    Self-motivated and organized, with the desire to work in a fast-paced and exciting environment with peers who challenge you to be better
  • Stellar communication skills with the ability to ask good selling questions that compel prospects to act
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • High EQ, comfortable with ambiguity and possesses a ā€œroll up your sleevesā€ startup mentality
  • Excellent relationship building and management skills
  • Tenacious, have a knack for adapting to a conversation as it progresses, and a real passion for results
  • Demonstrated ability to extract information and business requirements from prospects
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and enjoys taking initiative
  • Ability to quickly understand and demonstrate technology and business value proposition
  • Proven business development, sales, and/or marketing experience
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in Salesforce and Pardot
Education:
  • Bachelors Degree required

  • San Diego preferred

  • May travel to and from client meetings and conferences
